That was Kyle Wibby’s position Monday on whether Orleans should have a community center.
Wibby, vice chairman of the town s Recreation Advisory Committee, and four panelists talked during a citizens forum Monday about what a center might look like, where it might be located and what it might offer residents.
A father of three young children, Wibby runs programs out of the Old Firehouse on Main Street and has been involved in the development of the Finch Skate Park.
“There is a need and a desire for it,” he said of a new community center.
A community center was listed as one of the town s top two priorities in a survey taken by 300 residents last January. The survey was the impetus for a petition article at town meeting calling for a feasibility study on a new center.
