On the day jurors were expected to fill out questionnaires for his trial, Sean Matthew Walker, charged with the Aug. 10, 2018 vehicular manslaughter deaths of California Highway Patrol Officer Kirk Griess of Vacaville and Jaime Bueza Manuel, a Philippines national, has agreed to plead guilty to two counts of negligent vehicular homicide, a misdemeanor.
The Solano County District Attorney’s office has agreed to the deal, as court records on Tuesday show that Walker will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 13 in Department 7 in the Justice Building in Vallejo.

The Blanchester man convicted of kidnapping his neighbor and holding her in a grave-like pit has been released from prison as he awaits a new trial.
Dennis Dunn was found guilty of kidnapping Jennifer Elliott and sentenced in 2019 to seven years in prison by Judge Tim Rudduck. Now, that same judge is granting Dunn a new trial.
Joe Medici, deputy director of Trial Services for the Ohio Public Defender, stated in their post-conviction petition, that Dunn s trial attorney failed to investigate or properly use evidence that showed his innocence. We presented that evidence to the court during a hearing in February and ultimately, the court agreed that Mr. Dunn was entitled to a new trial, Medici said.
