Malone is facing one count each of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder with an alternative charge of felonious assault, and assault with a dangerous weapon. Malone was arrested the day of the incident after taking her 8-year-old daughter to McLaren-Oakland Hospital’s emergency room for treatment of a stab wound that she reportedly received while trying to stop her mother during the assault. The boyfriend, age 29, was also treated at the hospital.
