However, the ceremony and celebration make it one of the most memorable events for every attorney. It is the celebration of passing the bar exam.
The bar examination dates back to 1763. Delaware was only a colony when it administered the first bar examination in the United States. The examination was orally administered before a judge. Many colonies and later states followed the bar exam tradition. Some states had an added requirement that candidates complete an apprenticeship as well.
