Nolan Out Loud: Rent a Detroiter to get vaccine
While elderly residents in western Wayne County are still desperately seeking COVID-19 vaccines, Detroit is so flush with the shots that it is dropping eligibility to those over age 55, Mayor Mike Duggan announced.
Detroit, with a third of the county’s population, has been getting two-thirds of the vaccines administered through health departments in Wayne County.
In a nod to backlash against that unfair distribution, Duggan opened eligibility for the city s supplies to suburbanites, too. But with a catch. They have to find a qualifying Detroiter to go with them to the get vaccinated.
