Meru widow fights for inheritance with ‘millionaire’ step-children 6 years ago
A 35-year-old woman from Meru is embroiled in a tussle with some of her late Australian husband’s children for property and Sh24 million.
Evangeline Kalingu Stephen from Tigania married Benito Armetta Vittoria Giuseppe in a customary ceremony in 2011.
They met when they were both working for Intex Construction Company.
A year earlier, Giuseppe had lost his wife, Yolanda, with whom he had four children (all adults).
Kalingu describes Giuseppe, an engineer who worked mostly in Isiolo and Tharaka, as the ideal man - understanding, compassionate, caring and committed.
