A woman who targeted a charity shop as part of a stealing spree in Belfast city centre has been jailed for six months. Ann McClorey took jewellery, clothes, handbags, cosmetics and children s shoes from four stores targeted on the same day. The 42-year-old also stole KitKat chocolate bars and tins of rum in separate raids. McClorey, with an address at Waring Street in the city, admitted five counts of theft, burglary and possessing a Class C drug. Belfast Magistrates Court heard she was detained at an Oxfam shop on July 31 last year. Goods valued at £55 had been stolen from the store.

Belfast man who assaulted taxi driver and tore down Covid screen jailed

A taxi customer who tore down a Covid screen and assaulted the driver after being asked to stop smoking has been jailed for four months. Belfast Magistrates Court also heard 41-year-old Robin Fuller produced a screwdriver and tried to punch the victim taking him to pick up gardening supplies. Fuller pleaded guilty to common assault, two counts of possessing an offensive weapon in public, criminal damage and making off without payment. Prosecutors said the defendant became violent after being picked up at his accommodation on the Springfield Road, west Belfast on October 16 last year. During a trip to B&Q in Newtownabbey he ignored repeated requests to stop smoking in the back of the taxi, the court was told.
