A district court judge bound over Shawn and Jamie Wilmoth, both 37, of Warren and Willie Reed, 38, of Florida to Macomb County Circuit Court in Mount Clemens to face the charges related to allegations they submitted 68,000 fake signatures for political candidates in 2020.
Christopher Lynch is accused of picking up and throwing or pushing one officer from the second-story of a home on Fulton Street, causing the officer to be hospitalized for broken bones.
James Biernat, who was appointed to the bench in 2011, was first named chief judge in 2015 after John Foster retired. Biernat also serves as chief judge of Macomb Probate Court and both divisions of the county court, 42nd District Court, in Romeo and New Baltimore.
Wilmoth and his two co-defendants are accused of defrauding the 2022 gubernatorial campaigns of Perry Johnson, James Craig, Donna Brandenburg, Michael Brown and Michael Markey, as well as judicial candidates Tricia Dare, John Cahalan and John Michael Malone, whose campaigns were derailed. Reed is additionally charged with theft from the gubernatorial campaign of Ryan Kelley.
