The multiplatinum R&B singer R. Kelly has been ordered to pay at least $300,000 in restitution to some of his victims, a federal judge said on Wednesday. A federal judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York ruled said the money will compensate two women, known as Jane and Stephanie, for the costs of therapy and herpes treatment. U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly made the ruling in the early afternoon of Wednesday, September 28.
R. Kelly is handed another loss in court as the federal judge who convicted him in June has approved the seizure of close to $28,000 that was in his prison account. In a nine-page letter, Judge Ann Donnelly cited the fact that the singer has not paid any of the fines that he was ordered to pay in his June sentencing for racketeering and sex trafficking.
