In a one-page order with no explanation, a two-judge majority of the 6th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals rejected a request by federal prosecutors to reconsider the court s decision in October to grant a a new trial to Hazelwood and former subordinates Scott “Scooter” Wombold and Heather Jones.

During a December 19th Holiday Donation Drive-By, the Chattanooga Chapter of the Tennessee State National Alumni Association again gave back to the community, providing toys and a check for $1,000 to the local Forgotten Child Fund. The fund began in 1961 when a police officer responded to a domestic violence call at Christmas and saw the children hovering in a corner with only an apple and an orange as Christmas gifts.
