(Harrisburg, PA) A Harrisburg University professor who is known for creating 3D face shields for first-line healthcare works is dead after battling COVID-19. Dr. Charles Shearrow passed away at 61-years old on Tuesday due to complications of the coronavirus. Harrisburg University said yesterday that Dr. Shearrow and his students made about 2,300 3D printed face shields for local healthcare workers during the pandemic. A state appeals court has rejected claims by supervisors in a central Pennsylvania township that allowing a Weis Market to sell alcohol would harm the public s morals.

Saying local officials provided no evidence to back their claim that the proposal would be harmful to the public morals, a Commonwealth Court panel Wednesday cleared the way for a central Pennsylvania Weis Market to start selling alcohol.
That decision, outlined by Judge Christine Fizzano Cannon, thwarts an attempt by Lancaster Township supervisors to block a liquor license transfer sought by the Weis store that has operated in their municipality since 1962.
