Schwartz, an experienced attorney, used ChatGPT, a language model, while working on a case against Avianca Airlines. However, Avianca's legal team discovered that several cited cases in Schwartz's brief were non-existent. The judge has ordered an explanation, calling it an "unprecedented circumstance."
