Hundreds of people marched through downtown Louisville on a sweltering Sunday to support Palestinian freedom amid recent violent clashes between Israel and Hamas.
An estimated 300 people of all races and ages participated in the march, organized by Louisville Students for Justice in Palestine. A separate prayer vigil and peace walk of about a dozen people was held at the Big Four Bridge, organized by the Center for Interfaith Relations and Interfaith Paths to Peace.
Participants in the afternoon march held signs that read “Free Palestine” and “Anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism.” One man carried a sign that read: “I’m missing the Laker game because Israel won’t stop the violence.”
