BRYAN, TX â Bryan ISD is in need of some help from the local community.
On May 25, staff at Neal Elementary arrived to find someone had broken into their brand new 4th-grade garden shed. We don t know why someone would do this, we had worked so hard to raise the funds, so finding it just broken now. was honestly devastating. shared Neal Elementary Principal, Juanita Collins, with KRHD 25 News.
Juanita Collins still reaches to brace her daughter when an oncoming car doesn’t fully stop at an intersection.
The Alliance resident also slows way down when she drives through the intersection of state Route 619 and McCallum Avenue NE in Lexington Township. That’s where Collins was driving with her then 13-year-old daughter, Alyssa Barron, on Feb. 9 when another car failed to stop at a flashing red light and struck their vehicle.
The impact of the crash deployed the airbags and sent Collins’ car into a utility pole, which broke in half due to the impact.
Collins said she is thankful that she, Barron and the 19-year-old driver in the other car all had been wearing their seat belts. They each walked away from the crash with only cuts and bruises.

BRYAN, TX â The students of Neal Elementary in Bryan all went home Friday with their very own book.
âI got Dog Breath, said one student.
âRight now more than ever, it is so important to put a book in their hands. A book thatâs their own that they get to take home,â said Principal Juanita Collins.
Over the course of the last year, teachers and administrators have been forced to relearn how to teach their students thanks to COVID-19.
Principal Collins says reading has been the biggest challenge for most of her students throughout the pandemic.
