Residents of the neighborhood said they heard more than a dozen gunshots and then immediately after saw officers performing CPR on a person on the ground.
Police said the person was taken to Silver Cross Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Will County Coroner s Office did not immediately confirm the fatality and further details, including the person s age or identity, were not available.
One witness said she saw officers shoot a man who looked to be between the ages of 19 and 21, hearing more than a dozen gunshots as she took cover inside her home.
