The Bahamas outscored Argentina 29-17 in the fourth quarter last night, but it was not enough as they fell short 80-76 to the fourth ranked team in the world in the FIBA (International Basketball Federation) Americas World Cup Qualifiers at the Kendal G.L. LaVine burst right past his defenders, punishing the ball despite the heavy contact. Drawing the and-1, he was able to further push ahead USA’s lead over Argentina.
A poster like this is nothing new to Zach. He’s garnered quite the reputation for his stunning athleticism, from his speed, vertical, and strength. He’s got hardware for it too, winning the NBA Dunk Contest in both 2015 and 2016.
Such a moment is a breath of fresh air for Team USA. Despite all the struggles as of late, the roster is incredibly talented. After all, half the team has made All-NBA teams. From the “Slim Reaper” himself Kevin Durant, to the scoring machine Bradley Beal, or the clutch Damian Lillard, the roster is filled with weapons. It’s only better knowing it’s all anchored by the legendary coach Gregg Popovich. It’s made the team almost a lock to win the gold at any of the Olympic Games.
