correspondent william la jeunesse is in tonight. we are going to have an immigration system that works. as a candidate, donald trump promised to deport so-called dreamers. that has yet to happen. we had a deal with daca. juan manuel montes said he was having a hunch with a friend near the border when he was accosted by a porta patrol agent. unable to find his daca i.d., montes says he was deported, it claimed the administration denies, claiming there are no records to support montes claim. instead, officials say montes was already in mexico when they caught him a day later trying to sneak into the u.s. by climbing over a fence. dock and relays are not being targeted. i don t know why this individual was picked up. saying montes did have a
calexico, california, walking to a taxi stand. he says, a border patrol agent detained him. hours later, he says he was physically removed from the united states. a day or two after that, montes illegally crossed back into the u.s., climbing a fence. he saw a border patrol agent and turned himself in. the next day, he was deported. but immigration officials say it didn t happen that way. they say montes entered mexico on his own, and was deported when we returned. today, the homeland security secretary says by leaving the u.s. without permission, montes forfeited his protections as a dreamer. but he gave that up by his behavior, and by his illegal actions. reporter: but montes lawyers say immigration authorities are lying about what really happened, and they are now suing for more information about the case. judge curiel will decide whether they get that information. there are huge questions here about what the truth is. this young man deserves answers.
