San Juan City starts vaccination using J&J vaccines

(Photo from Patrick Garcia) The launch happened at the FilOil Flying V Centre, San Juan’s primary vaccination hub, and was led by Mayor Francis Zamora and other city government officials and employees. “With the arrival of these single-shot vaccines, we are getting closer to reaching our target of inoculating 70 percent of our population with two doses by end of August. We have also opened our third vaccination site at VMall Greenhills Shopping Center so I am confident that we will hit our goal,” Zamora said. The city previously opened its third vaccination hub last July 19 located at the third floor Events Place of VMall which can accommodate 1,000 vaccinees a day and will increase the city’s daily vaccination rate to 5,000 jabs, including jabs done at the city’s primary vaccination sites FilOil Flying V Centre and Theater Mall Cinemas 1 and 2.

San Juan vaccinates 86% of its target population, eyes completion in August

(Photo from Mayor Francis Zamora’s Facebook) “As of yesterday, we have vaccinated 73,987 people out of 85,400 and that represents 86.6 percent already of our target population to be vaccinated,” Zamora said in an interview with CNN Philippines. He added that the city now only needs to vaccinate 11,413 more individuals or around 13 percent of the target population. The city government intends to give the eligible population their first dose in the middle of July and have everyone fully vaccinated by August. “At the rate we’re going, I believe these targets are achievable as long as constant supply would be on hand, I don’t think there will be any problem,” Zamora said.
