SBCC School of Extended Learning offers rapid career training for unemployed
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara City College School of Extended Learning is offering training to help unemployed community members in Santa Barbara County. The Back-to-Work’ program is free.
Participants will receive training, grant funding, job search support and more. The application deadline for the first three career tracks in March 9.
“The pandemic’s toll on local service jobs is pushing already vulnerable families into crisis,” said Joyce Coleman, Vice President of SBCC School of Extended Learning. “Our Back-to-Work program focuses on local job markets that, in part due to the pandemic, have immediate high-demand for trained workers.”
Medieval Fair Dept. announces food event, artwork deadline
The Medieval Fair Department announced that they will host a food to go event at Reaves Park the same weekend as a virtual Medieval Fair, which will be held April 9-11.
Additionally, the department said residents wanting to make donations by Thursday can do so at tinyurl.com/ybzwyrxv.
The deadline for submitting artwork for the fair’s 2021 poster and T-shirts has been extended to Jan. 4. Entries can be emailed to medievalfair@ou.edu. The winning artist will receive a $250 honorarium.
Residents also are welcome to submit poster ideas for artists on the groupâs Facebook page, The Medieval Fair of Norman.
