SHS 2 student jailed 15yrs for robbery The Obuasi Circuit Court has sentenced an 18-year-old student of Asare Bediako Senior High School to 15 years imprisonment in hard labour. DSP Martin Asenso, Obuasi Municipal Police Commander, explaining the conviction of the student, said on April 8, 2021, Michael Dakorah, a General Arts student, and his accomplice mentioned only as Bullet, hired one Bernard Appiah, a commercial motorbike rider, from Kwapia to Aketekyieso. According to him, half way through the journey, Bullet asked the rider to stop, to which he obliged only for the duo to spray pepper into his eyes and robbed him. Michael Dakorah, aka Plug, before fleeing the scene also threatened the victim with a knife.

Listen to article The Obuasi circuit court has sentenced an 18-year-old Senior High School (SHS) student to 15 years imprisonment with hard labour for robbery. Michael Dakorah, a student of the Asare Bediako Senior High School at Obuasi, was said to have, together with an accomplice, attacked and robbed their victim of his motorbike on the road between Kwapia and Aketekyieso in the Adansi North District. He was, however, arrested by the youth of Aketekyieso when news reached the community of the robbery incident. Dakorah pleaded guilty to the charge and was convicted on his own plea by the court presided over by Her Ladyship Ms Joyce Boahen.
