Opinion: We stand with Griddy Feb. 26, 2021 FacebookTwitterEmail Low costs worth it Regarding “Griddy came to disrupt but got disrupted during freeze,” (B1, Feb. 24): We have had Griddy since it first arrived. We love it, even after the freeze, the notices sent by Griddy helped us save money. We set our thermostat to 67 degrees which was enough to keep pipes from freezing. Monday we only used 21 kilowatt-hours. Then power was off Tuesday. Wednesday we used 15 kilowatts, and Thursday we warmed everything up and only used 29 kilowatt-hours. Yes we paid more than we would have liked but we came through OK and it was with Griddy’s help. In January we used 645 kilowatt-hours at an average cost of 2.2 cents per kilowatt. Summer costs are low also with Griddy’s price alerts.
