Judge orders man to trial on murder charges
After two days of testimony a judge decided enough evidence existed to send the defendant in the Camp Lord Willing shooting death, Austin Lucas, 28, to a higher court to face trial.
First District Judge Michael C. Brown made the decision Tuesday morning and bond over the charges to circuit court. Lucas is being charged with open murder, felony firearm, false imprisonment, carrying a concealed weapon and domestic violence.
The Michigan State Police said Lucas, of Plano, Texas, shot and killed his live-in girlfriend, Joy Boswell, 35, while she was inside a car at the Shady Creek RV and Park Resort (also known as Camp Lord Willing). Boswell suffered a gun shot wound to the face and died at Beaumont Hospital.
