Legacy media, encompassing print, radio and television, are institutions that have served society for centuries. They have a responsibility to uphold the principles of journalistic integrity, accuracy and fairness. This is not to say that legacy media is infallible; it is, however, accountable to the public and subject to checks and balances.
One thing is for certain – the moon will eclipse the sun on April 8, 2024. Less certain, however, is whether or not clouds will spoil the day for viewers in the path of totality.
For the sixth year, RVA Community Makers will honor African-American leaders from various fields. The annual community-activated art project will be unveiled by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, and will remain on display until March 16.
