Knox County 4-H youth excel at public speaking contest

GALESBURG Public speaking is an important life skill that lasts a lifetime. In 4-H youth are prepared to speak confidently by learning skills associated with being a good public speaker. Knox County 4-H members who participate in the county wide public speaking contest develop skills for communicating real-life issues to real audiences, learn how to organize and prepare a speech, develop speech delivery skills, learn to present themselves to an audience, and develop self-confidence.
This year the Knox County 4-H Public Speaking Contest was held at the Knox Agri Center for youth enrolled in the public presentations 4-H project. All participants received a blue rating for their speeches and food demonstrations.
