Picture: SERAFINA SILAITOGA Ministry of Environment’s permanent secretary Joshua Wycliffe has urged border control workers to protect and safeguard endangered species in the country, preventing any cause for smuggling out of Fiji. In opening the enforcement training on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered and Protected Species Act (2002) (CITES) in Labasa yesterday, he told participants from the Fiji Police Force, FIRCS, Ministry of iTaukei, Labasa Town Council and border control officers that the ministry had a big task ahead to safeguard such species.
