ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Detectives released the name of a man fatally shot last weekend outside a East Central motel.
Gilbert Gallegos, an Albuquerque police spokesman, said police are investigating the May 15 death of Joshua Oliver, 31, as a homicide.
Officers responded around 4:45 p.m. to a shooting outside the Desert Sands Inn and Suites, near Central and Tramway. Police found Oliver fatally injured in the middle of Central.
Witnesses reported two people were arguing with Oliver before the shooting. No arrests have been made.
TORONTO A man and woman from Toronto have been charged in connection with a human trafficking investigation. Police allege that in April 2021, the female victim met a man on the social media platform Snapchat. He was allegedly using the user name Driptastic. Police say the woman entered into what she believed to be a romantic relationship with the man. In a short period of time, the girl was coerced to work within the sex trade against her will by the man and another woman, police said in a news release on Wednesday. Police allege all the money made by the woman, along with her personal belongings, were kept from her by the suspects.

Four men were charged with drug possession in the Freeport Magistrate s Court on Thursday.
Kisnell George, 39; Collin Bain, 48; both of Eight Mile Rock, were charged with possession of dangerous drugs with the intent to supply, and Levi Missick, 36, of EMR, was charged with possession of dangerous drugs.
They appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Debbye Ferguson in Court 1. The trio pleaded guilty to the charge and were fined $850 or six months at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
Joshua Oliver, of Grenada Avenue, Freeport, pleaded not guilty to possession of dangerous drugs with the intent to supply and was granted $1,500 bail with one suretor.
