A Los Angeles-based real estate firm that has spent the last 15 years focused on residential projects is reentering the retail sector with the purchase of what is said to be an extremely healthy shopping center in Mira Mesa.
The city of San Diego is close to inking two separate lease agreements that will allow it to vacate almost entirely the 54-year-old City Operations Buildings at 1222 First Ave. in the municipal core.
The recently renovated Tower 180 office complex at 180 Broadway Ave. has a new owner that plans to spend $140 million to convert the downtown San Diego property into a hotel and residential property, while maintaining the existing ground-floor shops.
