The Ottawa County Health Department has identified a few demographical groups that are not well represented in the responses to the department’s Community Health Assessment.
“We have been trending in a very good direction,” Niese said.
He noted that the majority of those new cases are occurring among younger populations, with the median age of the county’s coronavirus cases being at 35.8.
Niese also pointed out that there are a few orders still in place, which primarily deal with long-term care facilities, but COVID-19 testing laboratories are still required to report positive or negative results to the health department, as are schools.
He said there are no remaining restrictions regarding gatherings and capacity, but businesses can still choose to require masks at their own discretion.
