They are monitoring potentially strong and gusty wind wednesday morning into thursday afternoon that would impact the Central Coast and bay area counties. They have issued a fire weather watch for large portions of Northern California that would affect people in seven bay area counties including the Northeast Bay hills and the santa cruz mountains. Cal fire has a fire in napa county. Many are getting ready and city and local officials are warning people the power outage could last for days. Power will be likely shut off for thousands in Alameda County alone including in the Oakland Hills because of red flag weather and high fire danger. It is an unprecedented move. This is a first. Thhave received notification of a planned power outage. I will say it is good to have some warning rather than no warning. It could take up to five days for pg e to get the power up which the mayor said would be devastating. Five days without electricity is acceptable for our committee. Theres a possibility they could restore power sooner. That depends on how quickly they can inspect lines and re energize those lines.
