The Department of Interior announced this month that it will invest $46 million in funding for tribal communities as part of the Bureau of Indian Affairs Tribal Climate Resilience Program.
“As the effects of climate change continue to intensify, Indigenous communities are facing unique climate-related challenges that pose existential threats to Tribal economies, infrastructure, lives, and livelihoods,” Interior Secretary Deb Haaland said.
