In the blink of an eye, the International Jewellery Fair has come and gone for another year with exhibitors and visitors alike departing Darling Harbour with a clearer picture of the state of the industry.
Despite some unfortunate weather on the opening day, the Australian jewellery industry’s overall sentiment appears positive following the Melbourne Jewellery Expo (MJE).
The Melbourne Jewellery Expo (MJE) begins at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre tomorrow (4 February) and concludes on Monday and will run alongside the Gift & Lifestyle Melbourne event.
The Australian Jewellery Fair ran over the weekend and has been declared a success. The boutique-style event, which was sold out four weeks before opening, was promoted as “Kick Start 2022”.
Much has been written about the impact of the global pandemic as well as the damage caused on businesses which, of course, then flowed through to people’s personal lives. And while the focus on the negative is important, what has often been lost is positive and beneficial examples of human endeavour.
