his level and go back and forth on all these little insults. she needs to rise above and make the case for why her policies are actually going to benefit the middle class n a way that he hasn t been able to do. josh, i want to get your take on all of the reports this week that at least three people had withdrawn from consideration to lead klobuchar s campaign, partly due to her history of mistreating her staff. some staffers are quoted unanimously describing constant putdowns. you ran the last presidential or part of the last presidential campaign where there was a woman involved, female candidate, hillary clinton. is this because klobuchar is a woman? i will say we re not seeing stories about the historic turnover in donald trump s cabinet and administration right now and not being described as a disqualifying for him. so, i do think that absolutely that has something to do with it. i think there are a lot of tough bosses in washington. that s not necessarily a bad thing. and i do
i do consider cory booker to be first tier and am really concerned about his recent comments around putting yourself in the place of white folks around blackface, and kind of making it seem as if that s okay. a little concerned about that for him right now, because many people especially on twitter in this moment are wondering where his thinking lies with with regard to that. i do think the top tier is elizabeth warren, kamala, cory booker, gillibrand, in that space. i don t think that amy klobuchar is right there but we re like 100 years away. about more than 300 days from iowa caucuses indeed. josh, we saw her performance there on capitol hill during the kavanaugh hearings and she was pretty tough, and you can see her history as an attorney there on display. do you think she will be strong during the debates?
when you announce is to lay hout who you are, what your vision sand what you ll do for america. i look forward to hearing that from her. laura, we look at the other candidates out there, seem as if many are on to the moniker of progressive. is amy klobuchar, will she be the first moderate candidate in this race for the democrats? well, there s telsa gabbert. sherrod brown jumps into the race, he ll be considered a progressive. the other candidates in the race really kind of are mushing together in people s minds. so i do think that klobuchar really needs to make the case for how her policies are different from kamala harris s, from kerr stin jill brand s. why is she different? it s a really crowded primary. they re really fighting for staffers. fighting for donors right now, so i think she needs to stand out right out of the gate. and josh, just from an optics standpoint as we take a look at that scene and know the temperature is 14 degrees but
klobuchar will be speaking in the next few moments. i m also joined as well by danielle moody mills joining us. you re watching this. we ve seen so many candidates launch these weekends over the last four weeks. what s amy klobuchar s lane? you know, i think that her lane right now is to show that she has midwestern values, that she can reach the people that essentially many democrats feel that hillary clinton lost, that have turned their back on the democratic party and have turned towards trump and feel like, you know, she s a person that can speak to their anxieties that they had and their frustrations that they had with the democratic party. and she s positioning herself as a unifier to that respect and that she knows these people, she knows how to get them back and understands what they mean. in the meantime, josh leaderman is also there with us. josh, you re watching this. say a year from now we re talking about who are the
