ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Albuquerque police officers were busy Christmas Eve in Downtown, helping homeless people, as well as their four-legged buddies.
The outreach effort connected them with 26 people who were staying on the streets, providing them with gift bags that included much-needed clothing, including socks and underwear. They also directed them to resources, such as local shelters, where they could find a place to stay warm.
The officers even took time to help a very cold seven-week-old puppy belonging to one homeless couple, creating a puppy sweater out of a sock.
