Attendance in an area school district was above 95 percent for the month of December.
According to unofficial minutes from the Sweet Springs R-7 School Board meeting on Thursday, January 14, elementary principal Melanie Davis reported the attendance was 95.94 percent and high school principal Josh Hume reported attendance was 95.44 percent.
In other news, the board approved Plan B for the Senior Trip to Nashville, Memphis and Little Rock by Charter Bus and a resolution for additional COVID-19 leave for district employees.
Also, filing currently is under way for the school board election. Two three-year seats and one one-year seat- currently held by Darla Reid, Ricky Rennison and Cindi Sims- are going to be on the ballot. Filing will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, at the high school. The Municipal Election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 6.
