Former NXT wrestler Patrick Clark (f/k/a Velveteen Dream) addresses online accusations and departure from WWE May 24, 2021 Former WWE wrestler Patrick “Velveteen Dream” Clark issued the following statement via his Instagram Page. “The allegations from April 20 2020 have effectively derailed any upward momentum I had professionally. And has ultimately resulted in my termination with WWE. My name is Patrick Clark, not the Velveteen Dream. Velveteen Dream is a character that I have spent years developing and trying to bring to life. The success of the Dream character, relied heavily on kayfabe, my ability to blur Patrick Clark from Tough Enough with this over the top personality.

Image: WWE In a Monday Instagram story that focused heavily on past allegations, Velveteen Dream made his first comments since being released by WWE last Thursday. Dream (Patrick Clark) denied the accusations by Josh Fuller and Jaccob  that arose during the Speaking Out movement in April 2020. He first focused on Fuller, saying he met him in 2015 after Tough Enough through a mutual pro wrestling trainer. They struck up a friendship, but Clark said their relationship eventually frayed in 2018 after he suggested Fuller take a break from wrestling training after he suffered a concussion in 2017. To have him accuse me of predatory behavior because I chose not to help is spiteful, he wrote.

Dream addressed the allegations against him and said he felt strong about not defending himself on social media, but he understood the audience he works for, and felt that those who know him deserve clarity. He also said he’s grateful for the opportunities and memories, then ended his statement by declaring that “Dream is officially over” but Patrick Clark will live to fight another day.
