(ABC 6 News) - Hasan Atique, who volunteers at Abubakar Mosque in Rochester, was joined by several others to worship at the mosque on Wednesday. The way we live in Muslim countries, we socialize in the mosque instead of going outside and in the cafeteria. So we just sit here and talk about life and how everything is going. You see this brother here? You see, he lost his telephone. I was worried about him, Atique said, pointing to fellow Muslim praying on the floor.
Atique said at the height of the pandemic, the mosque had markings on the floor to keep people socially distanced while praying. Those markings are now gone.
