A Polk County Fire Rescue paramedic has been arrested, accused of stealing three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine that was meant for first responders.
The arrest affidavit states that Joshua Colon, 31, who is also a training officer, stole the Moderna vaccines, then forged the vaccine screening and consent forms. Colon told detectives he was directed to do so by his supervisor.
He resigned on Jan. 22, and was arrested Monday. He faces charges of forgery, uttering a forged instrument, falsifying medical records, official misconduct, criminal use of a personal ID, and creating a fictional personal ID.
