(ABC 6 News) - Many of the smaller cities in Olmsted County grow each year, and with more people means more 9-1-1 calls.
Stewartville officials met with the Olmsted County Sheriff s Office to consider adding two more deputies to cover the city. Tuesday evening, the sheriff s office threw a curve ball.
Right now, there is one deputy in Stewartville full-time and a handful of others rotating through the city part-time. Olmsted County Sheriff Kevin Torgeson says Stewartville s crisis calls are getting more complicated. They often involve mental health issues and require more than one deputy to respond.
