WAYNE, NJ Just over halfway through the month of December and Wayne has already seen more positive coronavirus cases than in November, Mayor Christopher Vergano announced during a weekend news conference.
According to Vergano, the township is reporting 649 new positive cases as of Dec. 19, which averages out to 38 new cases per day, a rate which is extremely high from where we were going the last few months, Vergano said.
Vergano also reported three new coronavirus deaths in December, but added that these Wayne residents actually passed away in November, despite appearing on the December report.
