Im also the director of the Civil War Institute. It is my pleasure this morning to introduce to you Patrick Green whos an associate professor in history and classics at providence college. I should note hes also the father of one of our High School Scholarship recipients from last year, correct . She came here and enjoyed herself im sure. Patrick is the author of the land shall be deluged in blood, a new history of nat turners revolt published by Oxford University press. It is a book that i assigned to my undergraduates this spring. And as we all know undergraduates, theyre tough customers when it comes to books. They absolutely enjoy mr. Greens scholarship and especially his writing. It is a bold book, it is an important book and one of the things that patrick and i talked about it is just its just a shame.
