Every day, 87-year-old Frank Ford walks from his house to, Langhorne Coffee House, his favorite Pennsylvania coffee shop, and back.
The two-mile roundtrip coffee commute is one he’s made for five years now, and nothing but bad weather has stopped him from getting his plain black coffee – not even a pandemic.
Ford, who moved to Langhorne five years ago from Florida, always has walked for exercise. So, when he and his wife moved into their apartment, he started walking around the neighborhood park but wanted a destination.
“So that coffee shop being a mile away was the perfect destination,” Ford said. “I can go there. I can say hello to people. I can have a cup of coffee and relax, and then I can walk back – so much better than just walking around the park.”
