A motorist who fatally struck an 18-year-old college student in La Mesa, then fled and was arrested more than a month later, was sentenced Thursday to three.

La Mesa police on Thursday released images of a “possible vehicle of interest” in hopes for tips and answers as they investigate the death of a UC Riverside freshman found gravely injured on the side of a road.
Jok Joseph Jok, who went by Michael, was found shortly after 9 p.m. Feb. 27 on the ground at the east edge of Bancroft Drive, south of Golondrina Drive, Lt. Greg Runge said.
Police arrived to find Jok unresponsive, with head and shoulder injuries. The 18-year-old San Diego resident a 2020 La Jolla Country Day School graduate who had his eye on medical school was hospitalized.
