Enforcement actions and the lessons that we should take away from them. We must recognize that Enforcement Actions are just one part of the answer, so im interested in hearing also about how we can better inform computer users of the dangers of botnets and what other hygiene steps we can take to address this threat. My hope is that this hearing starts a conversation among those dealing day to day with the botnet threat and those of us in congress who are deeply concerned about that threat. Congress, of course, cannot and should not dictate tactics for fighting botnets. That must be driven by the expertise of those on the front lines of the fight, but congress does have an Important Role to make sure there is a solid Legal Foundation for Enforcement Actions against botnets and clear standards governing when they can occur. We must also ensure that botnet takedowns and other actions are carried out in a way that protects consumers privacy. All while recognizing that botnets themselves re
Better integrate those data systems, that will be a major step towards improving the services. The Second Barrier is getting institutionsndary thatt up bridge programs will allow the military inerience to be recognized any of the training and of theon and any training and education that was received in the military can be recognized so this these programs can be shortened for veterans. There is an effort by community colleges, the main educational institutions that are working in this area part of the problem is they are concerned there wont be enough demand for program once it is put up to the other is theres a lot of complexity found once it is put up. The other is there is a lot of complexity. Another one is raising Awareness Among licensing boards. This is of particular concern in the health area because of concerns about making sure the quality standards are met, loosening requirements may lower the quality standards and, in the medical area, that is a major concern. It is also lo
The modifying video competition report, some of those things. I have got a piece of legislation weve passed out of the full house twice now, very bipartisan, i think it was unanimous earlier in this Congress Called the fcc consolidated reporting act which really tries to take a broad view and to eliminate a lot of the outdated reports, to streamline the reporting process. Something that i think you have seen bipartisan support to do in the house. Were trying to get the senate to take that up. Im not sure if you have a comment on what you think should happen there, if thats something youre supportive of generally, especially as it relates to the bipartisan bill in the house trying to move through the senate to ultimately become law to streamline the process as your staff has suggested. So on the senate side, its senator heller who has been pushing on this, and i know that he and senator rockefeller are talking about it in terms of their package of legislation over there. I definitely ag
It is our intent, we need to do a better job. We should make that clear. The problem is the public doesnt trust the epa. The farmers dont trust the epa to not overreach. Congress doesnt trust the epa, and what we have here today is a proposed rule, a defective. As youve said we need to make things clearer, our intent is not clear, we need to do a better job. But the rule is out there. The very fact you intercepted our questions and thought you had the audacity, that you had that control, none of us trust for two seconds that the epa isnt going to let this train roll right down the tracks. Saying all these good things and putting things on your blog doesnt make it so. Especially when what youve shown is a disregard for listening. You dont listen. And if you dont listen, whats going to happen so youre saying youre getting this input. Frankly, congress doesnt trust you. The farm bureau or counties dont trust you. The public doesnt trust you to simply ignore all that youre hearing. And whe
That they need to know about whats probably happening in their community . One of the most prevalent venues where these minors are being trafficked are in local hotels. Now typically, you know, people arent paying attention whos coming and going in these hotels but those who are in the business of operating hotels they are in a position to take notice of the behavioral characteristics consistent with this trafficking. For instance, many times a pimp will come in with three, sometimes five young girls. The girls will be off to the corner, the pimp will go in, make the arrangements for three to five rooms. Might be for a threeday period. Typical cash. These girls will go up to the rooms. Theyll never leave their rooms. Food will be delivered. Nobody sees them again until they leave. Thats strange. What whats going on . Why is that pimp hanging around . Why is he walking the hallways . You know, 24 7. Somethings going on thats inconsistent with the regular routine of the trade of that hot
