Trump s Defense Shoves His Biggest Supporters Under The Bus
During the impeachment trial, former President Donald Trump s attorneys argued that no thinking person would take his words literally.

Former President Donald Trump convinced his supporters of the big lie that the 2020 election was stolen. He warned that if they didn’t “fight like hell,” they were “not going to have a country anymore.” He told them to march to the Capitol.
And now that many of those supporters have been charged in connection with the Capitol insurrection while he watches his impeachment trial unfold from Mar-a-Lago, Trump is abandoning them.

As lawyers for former President Donald Trump argued Friday that he should be acquitted at his impeachment trial for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection, one of his supporters was in federal court in Georgia asking for his son to be released from federal custody after the 18-year-old was charged with shoving an officer during the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol.

ATLANTA - A 23-year-old Georgia man was arrested on charges relating to criminal acts during the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Benjamin Harry Torre, of Dawsonville, was arrested by FBI Atlanta Tuesday morning. According to a criminal complaint, Torre admitted to FBI agents that he entered the U.S. Capitol last month through a broken window.
Agents interviewed Torre on Jan. 21 at his home, where he told agents that he drove to Washington D.C. with his family, including his parents, to attend the Stop the Steal rally.
Bruno Joseph Cua, an 18-year-old from Milton, Ga., was arrested and charged late last week over his admitted involvement in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol Complex.
