L.A. County District Attorney George Gascon seemingly brushed off concern from the mother of one of the slain El Monte police officers who said she blamed his office for her son's killing.
I urge everyone to ensure that we do not overreact here and that we do the things that we know that work, Gascon said at a press conference on Tuesday.
One of the two El Monte police officers killed in the line of duty on June 14 is being posthumously promoted, the city and its police department announced.
