Joby-backed H2Fly announced further development with its hydrogen-electric powertrain. The company said it has passed liquid hydrogen on-ground filling tests with the newly developed liquid hydrogen tank, which is integrated into its HY4 aircraft.
Advanced powertrain developer H2Fly expects its fuel cell-powered HY4 demonstrator to be back in the air by the summer following the installation a new liquid hydrogen fuel system. Tests of the fuel system are currently under way at Air Liquide’s campus near Grenoble in France, says H2Fly chief executive Dr Josef Kallo. That will be followed by a run of the whole fuel cell
A company specializing in hydrogen-fuel cell systems for aircraft has partnered with a German airport to establish a facility needed for developing and testing passenger planes utilizing the fuel.
