As is many times the case for minor league baseball teams, this week was a week of transitions and change for the Visalia Rawhide. The week started with some of the Rawhide’s best pitchers (Blake Walston, Denson Hull and Brandon Pfaadt) and position players (Jorge Barrosa and Roman Ruiz) being transferred from Visalia to Hillsboro. Phaadt won his first game at Hillsboro, which is a great start for him. Again, I am just a fan, but many of these guys seemed to shine in Visalia and deserved to be transferred. However, I was a little surprised by Ruiz being moved so quickly. When Ruiz arrived in Visalia, he was on fire, hitting over .500 his first few games and proficient at stealing bases. However, he only played 14 games in Visalia and seemed to cool off as time went to where he ended up with an average of .163.
