Totally different neighborhood of san jose. That sighting eventually led officers here to oak ridge mall where they arrested the suspect in a parking garage, just before 1 00 this morning. This is the man they arrested. 30yearold martin martinez. Hes behind bars in Santa Clara County jail tonight accused of murder. Hes suspected of killing five people inside this modesto home. Police discovered their bodies yesterday after receiving a request to check on the family. We have identified that all of the victims inside are females. All of them are related. And the children are from ages 6 months to 6 years. Reporter police say martinez knew at least two of the victims. We have also determined there is a past relationship between martin and one of the victims inside, and one of the children is his. Reporter but investigators say theyre still trying to determine the motive for the massacre. Last night martinez was named as a person of interest. Police launched a statewide search for him and
Processing the crime scene. Police say a woman stabbed a man to death this morning and theyre still looking for her. The man was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center where he died. Theyre not surprised to learn about the murder. They say this is an area that has seen plenty of crime. They have some criminals like that, children. Too many. Two miles, a lot of criminals.
