The suspects stole cars from dealerships and then sold them for a few hundred bucks. They were sentenced to decades in prison, according to the Weld County DA.
Four people have been indicted on charges related to two auto theft rings that investigators say were in operation during 2021, resulting in at least 60 stolen cars.
Forty-five-year-old Jose Luis Pizarro was sentenced to 21 years in March, and 31-year-old Hector Rivera and 32-year Ryan Yarwood were each sentenced earlier this month to 18 years and 20 years, respectively. Forty-one-year-old Amanda Johnson who police say led both auto theft rings also pled guilty for her role and faces up to 48 years in the Department of Corrections at a sentencing hearing May 31, according to a release from the District Attorney’s Office.
