CLEVELAND, Texas (AP) A four-day manhunt in Texas for a gunman accused of killing five neighbors ended Tuesday when authorities, acting on a tip, said they found the suspect hiding underneath a pile.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Sen. Ted Cruz and others from the state praised a massive law enforcement effort to find 38-year-old Mexican national Francisco Oropesa.
Officials did not specify the location of his arrest on Tuesday night, but they said the suspect was being held at the Montgomery County jail where he was initially taken.
The man accused of fatally shooting five of his Texas neighbors after he was asked to fire his weapon farther away from their home was caught Tuesday night after a four-day.
